Ports for origin
I'm trying to get online with Star Wars, Battlefront 2. I've found the ports for the game, but I'm still offline in the origin client. I'm seeing activity on 51926, 55002, 59256, 59415 but can't fi...
Oh... yes. Turning off the firewall stops the firewall blocking origin.
I'm using a Sophos home UTM and am reading the logs.
TCP on port 9000 to AWS
i examined the traffic and tcp port 9000 as a destination port to AWS, and as a source port from AWS (both directions, established) definitely appears to be a requirement for Friends list functionality.
There's a condition where the Origin client is online - (and will reflect "Go offline" as a menu option) - yet Friends is offline - and it may report or interact in an "offline" way, if port 9000 is hindered somehow.
While technically a problem here is probably "on" the user end, the application is reporting to be both online and offline at the same time. This is due to a lack of consolidation.
It is also not helpful the "range" of TCP/UDP ports EA "Community" members recommend doesn't include 9000

I understand requirements change over time, but it doesn't appear EA keeps an official article on port requirements.
Lastly as a side note, don't just open ports because some random place on the internet tells you to, especially if the ports may not even get used - there's a reason for official documentation
