[Issue Resolved] - Sims 4 Cannot Install Update

hello fellow ea'ers i am the (not so) proud owner of a macbook and thus i am forced to still use origin. with this new update however, i have run into quite a problem. i cannot update sims 4.  ...

Hi all,

In order to help us further investigate this issue, could you please run an Origin Error Report with these steps and provide your Report ID in the thread here?

Would love too, but Origin isnt responding so i cannot do this. it keeps requesting a verification code and then crashes before i can enter it. My problem was just the download but now i dont even have a game as its all uninstalled. Origin does not work on mac and we are getting snubbed yet again.

    I fixed this problem by going to my account on the EA Help site, in security turning on and setting up verification, then disabling it. Let me know if you need any more help with that. Though I still can't get the game to update now haha

      Tried that it doesnt change. Tried it on google chrome and safari and both are not working. The security method for origin is not working ☹️

    Yes you can:

    1. Right click on the Origin app and select Show Package Contents
    2. Navigate to Contents > Applications
    3. Double click on the OriginER file and follow the prompts in the window that pops up

      Mine finally, magically updated! I'm guessing it's a server-related issue for those of us still on Origin?
