3 days to download SPORE.

My daughter asked me on Monday to buy Spore. I bought it and finally found out how to download it (trying to get it faster for my daughter) its Wed. and its still downloading. Could someone explain to me why its taking this long and how can I get a disk so she doesn't have to wait any longer?
