A Way Out PC Issue

I’m having an issue with A Way Out Friend Pass. I’m the Friend Pass player, and when I accept my friend’s invite, the game gets stuck indefinitely on the “Authenticating” loading screen. We’ve both restarted our PCs and the game, and we’ve also cleared the EA App cache through App Recovery, but the issue persists. It has worked successfully before, so I’d appreciate help identifying what’s causing the authentication to fail.

    Hi there, sorry to hear you're getting stuck on the “Authenticating” screen.

    Since clearing the EA app cache didn’t help, please try the following:

    • Make sure the EA app in-game overlay is enabled for both players.
    • Sign out of the EA app completely, restart the PC, then sign back in.
    • Run both the EA app and A Way Out as Administrator.
    • Make sure A Way Out and the EA app are allowed through your firewall/antivirus.
    • If possible, reinstall the Friend Pass version and try the invite again.

    If it still gets stuck on “Authenticating,” let us know whether both of you are launching the game through the EA app or if either player is using Steam.
