Hi,
I was able to solve the problem by following these simple steps:
1. go to 'control panel'
2. click on 'clock, language and region'
3. select 'region and language'
4. go to 'change system locale...'
5. finally select 'English (United States'
Your game should give the planets and creatures actual names now.
