Can anyone else confirm that if you completely turn off the EA app using the Task Manager, then when trying to open Spore in the files it will prepare for some time and then launch, but if you open GA in the files then it will just prepare the game forever and not even prompt the EA app to update? This could be valuable information.
Never mind, I could've sworn it would do that. It seems to only prepare forever if you try launching GA very quickly after hitting update.
There are two solutions to getting around this issue. I personally wouldn't wait for EA as they have an unreliable track record with fixing SPORE network problems.
The first one is to download the Spore ModAPI. This is a community run program. I would recommend this approach as it is the easiest, and changes virtually nothing with Spore Galactic Adventures (unless you decide to mod it).
The second is to downgrade the EA App with Origin. You can find a fork of it on GitHub here.
*Just note that these are third party programs, and were not created by EA.
It's not really a network issue. Also, I refuse, the game must be fixed by EA, I will not settle for seconds.
