Dragon Age II Won't Install [PC]

I recently purchased Dragon Age II off the EA app after purchasing and replaying DA: Origins.

I've tried restarting the app, my pc, all the usual things, but this is the consistent process:

1. I attempt to download Dragon Age II via the EA App. It gets to 97% downloaded when the first error message pops up:

Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (1603)

2. Closing this error prompts a Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package Setup pop-up for a manual install. I agree to the licensing terms and click 'install'.

3. After some more waiting as it attempts to install, I get yet another error message:

Error 1935. An error occured during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.ATL,version='9.0.30729.4148',publicKeyToken='1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b',processorArchitecture='x86',type='win32'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HResult: 0x800736FD

Followed by:

Rolling back action: [1]

Install fails, and it tells me to try again later (with no more success).

I did make a report about this but haven't heard anything back about it.

Hey Silverlynxcat can you try installing the most up to date version of VC++ to see if it helps.

You can find the latest version on the Microsoft website: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

You need to install both of the following:

    • vcredist_x86_vs2015 (for 32bit Windows version)
    • vcredist_x64_vs2015 (for 64bit Windows version)

If you get the message that the files are already installed, select Repair instead. It is recommended to run the installer as administrator (right-click the file, select run as admin).

    Darko
