I bought Spore: creepy and cute pack on Steam and when I try to use it I get "Error 1004". Please help! I have uninstalled and reinstalled all my spore stuff 3 times.

I have been having this same issue, and I've tried to look into it, but so far, nothing's working! I've tried everything, and every time I just get the error message 1004. I have windows 8.1, and every time I try to validate the Steam files, all I get is "1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired" after that, the same thing happens. Please help?

If you have tried everything you need to manually uninstall the game.

Then use the CCleaner and install it again

I just tried this a few times, but it still isn't working! I keep going in and deleting everything manually via control panel, and then run Ccleaner, but even then after I reinstall it, it still gives me the same message! I'm really, really grateful for your help, but I'm thinking it's time I go straight to either EA or Steam to ask them directly.
Well, looks like neither EA or Steam could help me with this, so I'll just try to get a refund...
