Game code won't let me play a game I own

So I bought Spore quite a while ago. the CD ROM version!!  I used it on an older laptop that was great! Until it died it's own way and was unrecoverable...And now I have a new laptop.  Well, I go...

    Hello Lenorav81​,

    if you'd already installed the game before, it's connected to an EA Account already - if it doesn't let you play it now, it simply means that you're logged into a different EA account and not the one that you originally played it on. 

    Please try to find the login data of the original EA account and use those to log in - you should be able to play the game then.
