Have Spore Account, Can Log In, but the Spore-pedia Says I Am Offline

Good evening.

I am writing because I am experiencing an issue with my Steam Launcher Program rendition of the "Spore" video game. Many years ago, I successfully created a "Spore Account" and even managed to download a few custom species. Naturally, this fails when I log in within "Spore" itself, but on my browser, it used to work just fine. Now, years later, it does not.

When I go to the official "Spore" website, I click "LOG ON" and sign in. The website recognizes my credentials and authorizes my access. Then, I click on the "Spore-pedia" link.  It tells me that I am not logged in despite being logged in. I have had a "Spore" account for years and I have never seen this occur before. Pictured to the left is the actual issue I am currently having.

As I have said, I have downloaded creatures from this site before and even have them on my home computer; I am playing "Spore" remotely while on vacation. "Spore" itself recognizes that I have a "Spore" account and it too accepts my credentials, but it tells me there's no way to connect to the network.

Before asking for help from Valve, I was recommended to try here.

What am I doing wrong?

    @TurtleShroom You do not have a Spore account. You have an EA/Origin account. EA/Origin accounts have limited access to the Spore website, you need to register a full Spore account for full access, as well as to use the in-game online features.

    You must do this with the in-game registration form - enter your EA/Origin account email/password, and a new screen name for Spore.

    However, there is currently an issue where you may see "an unknown error occurred during registration".     How come I was able to download Spore-pedia items in the past? I have several that I downloaded on my home PC.

    When I get to the Main Menu of the "Spore" game, it tells me that "NETWORK PLAY IS DISABLED". It doesn't accept any in-game input other than playing the actual game. Logging in with my account OR trying to register a new account are BOTH  rejected by the game's interface.

    It does not tell me that an unknown error occurred. It tells me that there was a problem connecting to the "Spore" Servers and that my computer is offline. It isn't.
