How to connect my Spore (Steam) game to ea servers?

I recently bought the game SPORE through STEAM but it doesn't allow me to connect to my EA account, having the product key would fix it but apparently STEAM no longer gives out product keys for games on their platform, what can I do to connect or get the product key?/Hace poco compre el juego SPORE a través de STEAM pero no me permite conectar con mi cuenta de EA, teniendo la clave de producto se arreglaría pero aparentemente STEAM ya no da claves de producto para los juegos en su plataforma, que puedo hacer para conectar o conseguir la clave de producto?.

  • Had the same issue a few days ago. You'll have to contact EA Help through here:https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/using-ea-help/. If the only option available for you is a phone call, try switching up the choices until it allows you to send them an e-mail. (If you can somehow get live chat, that may be better BUT I don't think EA does live chat support for Spore anymore.) Once you do that, state your issue and add attachments of proof of purchase to the e-mail. https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/how-to-provide-proof-of-purchase/. Once you've sent the e-mail, while you are waiting for a response, install the EA app and sign in. Link your Steam account to your EA account. After doing all this, when the EA advisor eventually responds, they should be able to give you Spore through your EA account. Do NOT install this copy of Spore however. Just keep the EA app open while you first login/make an account. You should be good in terms of connecting then.

If you'd like to connect to upload creatures, however, I'm currently in the process of solving this issue myself -- If you have the Creepy&Cute parts on Steam, and/or Galactic Adventures, see if you can ask them to activate those as well. I can use both DLCs but I cannot upload anything that uses them. I made a case with EA help about this, but it sadly got marked as duplicate -- no idea if this means I won't get an answer or not, so I'm just waiting to see at this point.

I'm having this same issue right now. Why is Steam even selling this game? I asked the chat bot to connect me with an advisor and it asked me the same four questions in an endless loop. It will acknowledge that I need help with Spore and then it will tell me that spore is not a game that even exists

I am having issues even getting in touch with a real person on the phone or through email and the Live ai Chat is not helpful enough to deal with Spore related issues. I cannot find any Spore related help on EA Supports official website. Can someone get me in touch with a real live EA Sports employee to help me?

@BetaRevenger yea bro i contacted the support page TWICE i sent proof of the purchase in my browser fullscreen even with my email for steam and EA app in another tab on the browser and they just say they cant add it this is just WT*?
  • @Toorocker Exact same issue. I opened a case. I purchased a mega bundle on Steam yesterday (5/20/2023) and only one of the games "Mirror's Edge Catalyst" was automatically added to my EA platform's library. Why nothing else was added is beyond me.
  • I ended up contacting EA support live chat because apparently, you need an EA version of the game to connect to their servers (makes sense, I suppose). You will need to provide screenshots of your Steam receipt AND your confirmation email, both with your browser visible in the screenshot. You may have to zoom out to get your whole confirmation email in the shot (Ctrl - on Windows; press Ctrl 0 to return to original state). If these instructions are confusing, 1) I'm sorry, and 2) the person you're live chatting with should provide visual examples of what the screenshots should look like. If that proceeds, Spore will be in your EA library. You do NOT need to uninstall the Steam version and install the EA version; I used Steam to open up Spore once all this was done and was able to connect to the servers.
