How to get Spore to work on Mac

I just bought a download version of Spore for Mac from the EA website.  It instructed me that I had to open and download Origin.  I set up an Origin account.  That worked and it appears as though the spore download did as well.  The problem is when I now login to Origin and select My Games and click on spore and select play, a spore screen pops up then disappears.  Any suggestions as to how I get Spore to work?

    Just purchased  SPORE from EA site.  Shows up in my games after installation of ORIGIN but won't launch on Mac OSX.

    Somebody please help!!

    If it's refusing to launch, it might be a Origin corruption issue, try re-installing Origin.

    I had this issue too so I called them for a refund and they told me that the game is not for mac and that you can buy it threw a different link but they never sent me the email so if you bought it through origin then better get your money back
