I have buy the dlc of the game spore in ea app I have the game on steam

Hello EA community, I have a small problem. I bought the Galactic Adventure DLC for Spore on the EA App, formerly known as Origin. Here's the thing: I have the base game on Steam. My question is, if I download the DLC on Origin and the base game on Steam, can I play the DLC on Steam? I've heard that thanks to a new policy it might be possible, but I'm not sure.
