Lost registration code

I have owned this game for a little over a year I recently had to perform a system restore on my computer and spore was lost , I do not have the original packaging so I lost the registration code/key.  How do I retrieve this information or can one be generated for me.  I tried using a generic one that I found on the internet but now I am not able to play the due to an error ea 5626.  I know this cannot be due to the computer itself because as I said it was already installed on the computer.
