Spore Major Problems

So I was playing Spore Space Stage on PC, CD not digital download. I was on my home planet and I scrolled out to the system view and the screen went black. I could still hear the sounds and the HUD was working, but I couldn't see anything. I scrolled back down to my home planet and I could fly around just fine. I surfed around the internet and found that this problem had been going since 2008. I figured, since it's 2013, a patch had to have been released by now. I go to register for EA and it doesn't work. I have two EA accounts so I try both. The first one says that there's a problem connecting to the Spore servers. Everythings in order, and I can go online. I KNOW it's not a problem with the Firewall. My game's just not connecting to the EA servers. I try my second account. It starts working, looks like it's about to login, and BOOM, a screen appears saying I don't have "privelages" to use this game. What the hell? I went to Target and purchased this game off the rack, went home and installed it, used the key found on the back of the user manual. YOU tell ME how the hell I don't have privelages to use that game? Since I can't connect to the EA servers, as far as I know, I can't get the latest Spore patches. PLEASE FIX THIS GUYS! YOU'RE THROWING A GREAT GAME DOWN THE TOILET!!!!
