Spore: Planets and options won't load!

I have recently dowloaded a patch for my Spore game... It always showed up when I started up the game saying something like, "A new update/patch was found". I don't really remember why it said. I used to always cancel it and just go to my planet like always. One day I've decided to download it... Installation process went smoothly, everything seemed fine. But when I started up the game to the main menu it will only show the galaxy.. And nothing else. I could spin it, but there were no planets. Nothing! I don't know what to do!
