Spore will not open

So i just got the game spore on my mac and I checked everything and its totally up to date.(excuse the bad grammar/no caps) And my computer has all the right software and whatnot for it to run perfec...

    I was worried too as the support desk walked me through it but it did work. Once you uninstall spore, origin is still there & spore will still show under "my games". When you click on the play button (under my games>spore) it will ask if you want to download the game. It never disappears from your origin account, just the actual game download to your mac. You can also request for EA Sports to call you via their web support page, they called me the same day & walked me through it. It's worked ever since. He said that since it's an older game, some of the new mac updates don't work with it.

Same thing for us & I finally called EA Sports. They walked me through uninstalling Spore from my MacBook computer. Once you uninstall & empty your trash, you are able to download Spore again but when it asks whether to update say NO. Here's a thread re: uninstall.

    Before I do this I just have one question. I used Origin to install spore so will I have to buy it again? Or how exactly will that whole thing work?

    Also, Thank you so much for responding, I was beginning to lose hope that there was a solution.
