Unable to get online/connect in Spore

Hey, I just got spore on steam and went through the process with ea support to link my ea account and activate the game in origin. however I still cannot login to the spore servers - both in game (launched from origin) and in sporepedia site. my ea account is working fine and my network connection is solid, considering I play other online games on origin, yet spore keeps telling me it cannot access the spore servers or that my computer is offline (which it clearly isnt). spend about 2 hours with live support from ea and did everything from changing my password to resetting cache, deleting spore pref file in appdata, checking for firewall/app conflict...nothing has worked so far. ive been putting off playing the game as I want to be able to download more creatures and unlock achievements and stuff. If anyone knows how to fix this and has gotten it to work, any help would be much appreciated!
Very disappointed that this problem hasn't been fixed yet, I've been having the same issue. I'm wondering if they have finally shut down the spore servers.
- @90texas Nope, spore servers are still up and running as i managed to log in and register with creature creator. It just wont work with my actual spore game T_T
I just bought the game from steam myself and it really stinks because I cannot register.
In the exact same situation, I thought having an existing EA account from For Honor would help but apparently not.....
