Lack of VRAM playing Dirt 5.0

Hello!

I have been playing Dirt 5.0 for some time but I recently got a message saying that I don't have enough VRAM to play the game which is strange because as said I played many times without issues and is a brand new I7 computer with a NVIDIA RTX3050.

Anyone could help me how to fix it?

Thanks!

Rodrigo

    @rtollan

    Check your display is connected to your GPU and not the motherboard video output.

    Try lowering the graphics quality settings if the above does not resolve your issue.

    Thanks.

    @EA_Barry Thanks Barry! I am using a Laptop, I tried to lower the graphics but it became veeeery slowwww, I don't understand why and is only hapenning with this game. What settings should I exactly change in the graphic quality?
  • @EA_Barry I am also facing the same issue and I don't think that's a display connection issue because I'm using a laptop too. my laptop runs on Ryzen 7 5800H with the same RTX 3050 4GB GPU.
    Game is on default settings which is 'Automatic' for all the graphics, I think it's an actual bug that needs fixing.

    There have been a few problems with VRAM usage in the game recently. It's quite strange because it's already 4 years old and didn't initially have so many problems.
    As the 3050s were released after the game's launch, this may have caused some compatibility problems. (And optimisation, of course) That said, if the ‘Automatic’ graphics aren't reliable, reduce them until you find a good balance.

    The lens effect, particles and certain textures are VRAM-hungry: think about activating the rendering technologies (DLSS) in quality or performance, as this will reduce the load on your GPU.

    For the record, DiRT 5 is quite greedy (quite beautiful in game, I admit) and on my config it can use more than 10GB of VRAM in game, ultra settings (3440x1440,165Hz). It's not surprising that you have to drastically lower the graphics presets for the game to run relatively smoothly with 4 or 6GB.
