Re: Lost all my carreer and sponsor progress

Same as everyone.
I can't be expected to know how, but all my career progress shows zero percent, or way less than it should be. none show 100% even though most of them did before.
Series S (but clearly platform makes no difference).
I had the free trial, and now have it on gamepass. I will buy it when it is 90% off next year lol.

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for your continued patience on this.

In order to help with our investigation, could those of you who are still having this issue please upload your game save file so we can pass them along to the team? By default, you can locate the save file using the steps below:

    1. Open your Documents folder in Windows
    2. Open the My Games folder
    3. Open the GRID Legends folder
    4. Open the savegame folder
    5. You should see a folder named as a string of numbers.

Once you find the folder with the numeric name, please upload the folder to Google Drive. For more info on how you can upload and share it check out the links below:

Please be sure to set the files so they are shared for Public access. Once you have the folder uploaded and set to public, click "Get shareable link" to grab a link we can use.

Once you have the link please send it to me in a direct message. Click the little envelope icon on my AHQ profile (@EA_Kent) to DM me. Including something like "GRID Legends save files" in the message subject would be helpful.

I will pass along these files to the team so they can take a look and continue investigating this.

    Thank you everyone!

  • Hi @EA_Kent there is no such folder for myself, nothign labelled savegame.

I have checked both My Documents as listed below along with Steamapp folder. Inside both GRID Legends folders there is no folder saying savegame.

After looking through the available folders in both locatiosn there is no folder labelled with a numeric name.

This may be where is issue lies?

    Hi @Lumpy_Badgerr

Have you checked under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata to see if you can find the folder there?

If you're still seeing the same issue would you mind sharing your save files so I can pass them along to the team?

    Thanks!

  • Hi @EA_Kent there is a folder like you decribe in there that is numerical but there are then 43 folders within this and they all seem to relate to different games. Would you still like me to send through as you have requested or if there a way of seeing which folder realtes to GRID Legends easily?

  • Hi @EA_Kent

I've just experienced this issue on Xbox Series S/X. Screenshots attached. I always quit the game when finished through the Home > Exit Game menu and generally do not use Quick Resume. I know I did prior to losing my progress at least.

So far it is just Career progress that has reset - Story and Sponsor progress is unaffected. I am unsure if car upgrades or anything else has been affected.

Notice how despite me having medals in each event, the "Finish in 5th or less" tick box isn't ticked.

Redoing races you have a medal in still saves progress, so it doesn't seem like I'm locked out of any achievements or forcing a save deletion, but still, it's wasted time, and puts me off playing the game any further or purchasing the DLC.

I know that developers can gain access to saves from Xbox Live if authorisation from the user is granted. Happy to send you a direct message/email with any information you need to allow you to do this with my save, to assist with this issue in any way possible.

  • Hi @EA_Kent

Any news/progress/updates in determining the cause/issue?

I didn't receive a request to access my save and there hasn't been a response this week.

  • I have just had this issue, exactly as described above. I am on Series X and my XBOX ID is DJTwilightUK

@DJ_TwilightUK I haven't played the game since it happened to me. I want to know whether they're at least going to restore progress before I risk making the problem worse/have it reset again.
  • Just curious about this one. I had the same issues myself a while ago after taking part in an online event, but since then I just had the patience to start to slowly recomplete career mode with no issues at all since I just stopped competing in the online challenge races. You guys that it had happened to, did this occur after taking part in the online challenges?

@doomrunner666 I always go offline the moment the game attempts to connect at launch as I have no interest in the multiplayer.
  • Just had this happen to me after playing through a career event. Steam, offline.

After leaving the career event select screen, there was another set of menus pre-race to start the race (alongside the list of racers, I think). There I went into Options and changed the game difficulty. The game prompted me to restart the race for the difficulty changes to take effect, so I did. After completing that event, I lost career progression percentage.

Going by what happened here and from what I've read, it's highly suspected that the cause is finishing a race that has been restarted (also if you choose Restart at the end of a race).

  • I ask me when they finally bring out a patch/hot fix for this.

Its a bit of a shame that they leave us with such a game breaking bug over such a "long" time...

As a developer, i can totally understand Codemasters. I reported the bug in July, but basically nobody got my same problem because not so much people was playing the game. It started gaining visibility when other people had the same issue (exactly when they gifted it on prime gaming). It takes time to find and fix the bug, and you basically have to count since when our community manager asked us for save game files. It is luckily not so game breaking, you can continue unlocking stuff.. I am waiting for a fix since July, but i can understand that maybe there were other priorities

  • @WatDaFrag the main issue I have with this is that myself and two others are completely willing to help by supplying their saves as requested yet they're not reaching out at all, nor are they responding to messages since the offer.

Hi @EA_Kent I am still yet to recieve a reply to this question and I have seen that I am not the only one. I understand that you must be busy but a month has now passed from my last post. I have updated the game today with the new content and am looking forward to giving the new bits a whirl but I am still yet to recieve any input as to how to combat this progress bug. We are all being very patient here and there may be nothing that can be done but if that is the case please just tell us! Im sure many others in this thread would appreicate some feedback on what is being done to resolve this.

    Hello EA_Kent,

The newest patch 4.0 didn’t fix this crucial issue. I did 3 races in the PRO career within the TUNER Section. I won the races and this time on the left side the box with the trophy/tick-box for “Finish the race on the 1st place” has been ticked and has a green marker. The progress in the career screen went up. It even stayed after quitting the game and restart the game. But probably this was just luck.

In all other career categories the progress is still not counted correctly. And because you need 10 finished categories in the PRO career section to unlock the gauntlet, the gauntlet is still locked. Despite the fact I really have finished all PRO career categories.

I understand that developers block some content with progression, but in this case content for us is totally blocked. I don’t want to re-drive all categories again just to hope that the progress does count correctly to unlock the gauntlet category.

Why can’t the developers put some code into the game which re-counts all won races and then updates the progress correctly for us.
