Replays have lost their cinematic feel since the original GRID
Gameplay wise Grid Legends is a step in the right direction. The handling is much better and more forgiving than in GRID 2019.
In the presentation videos from last year, Codemasters made clear they wanted to make the races feel more spectacular.
This is certainly true if you compare GRID Legends to GRID 2019, thanks to the random events during the race combined with the nemesis system .
After the race you can watch a replay and this is where GRID Legends falls short if you compare it to GRID 2008.
The TV camera in GRID Legends (and also in GRID 2019) feels dull because it's always the same type of camera.
That same TV camera in GRID 2008 was switching between all kinds of viewpoints and almost felt like you were watching a car chase movie.
The cars could cause shakes and once in a while you could see the driver from an in-car camera.
I understand that in-car cameras were not possible in GRID 2 and GRID Autosport due to the absence of detailed interiors but the replays in those games were still interesting to watch.
The replays in GRID Legends could really use that dynamic feel from the 'old' games.
I hope Codemasters will take a look at this.
