You’re exactly right. It seems they just have an easy way out to play. I love a golf sim challenge. The swing stick is pretty good. They need to make the 3 click much faster and not as mindless.
- @MoeBot I agree, it is almost impossible to miss, no challenge at all, they should look at Access Softwares Links games, they got it perfect.
Does the speed vary with the difficulty level? I think I remember someone saying it was slower in Arcade mode?
- @Ultrasonic_77 Yes arcade mode is super slow. Other mode is faster with smaller miss area. Only issue i have with swing being faster is there is input delay at least for me on xbox. Basically when i click it doesn't register instantly. I am able to work around it, but it just feels a little laggy. I agree Links was king. I would play links on champ and elite and compete with the upper players. I am hoping EA can find a way to reduce the lag
@MoeBot wrote:Can a dev have a quick look at the old Links golf 2003 and make the 3 click this fast for a proper challenge please. Hard mode should be hard.
Yea, there is a delay...what is funny is that it only seems to be in the backswing portion on my Xbox. The downswing is almost immediate. Very strange.
Also, the game is still very inconsistent. Foe instance, I was doing a Bubba Watson spotlight challenge at the Masters and I used the 3 click method because the left handed swing motion was throwing me off. Well, according to the 3 click method I was perfect on both swings and was teeing off (so i was on level ground), however the ball went about 20-30 yards to the right. How is that even possible? Hahaha. I'm sure someone will give some excuse but it's simply ridiculous. Perfect swing on level ground shouldn't deviate that much from the indicated flight path...but it still does!
Ugh...game still has many flaws.

Wind and/or the deliberate random element to shot outcome especially prevalent before improving Accuracy skills are the likely causes of this, rather than a bug.
- @Ultrasonic_77 Well now that would be an issue...1) I'm familiar with the wind aspect, so that is a no go, and 2) DELIBERATE randomness...huh. So I'm not 100% but in the challenge you are using Bubba Watson and, I believe, you are using his statistics and clubs, not your own. If otherwise, I would like to know for certain, not just a "take my word for it". Pretty sure I'm correct here though based on the challenge.
Also, putting intentional randomness in a skill sports game is a bit strange. I wasn't claiming it was a "bug" per say, but to tell people...your a level 40 (not saying it's a super high level, but definitely good enough) with good accuracy and control in your drives, BUT randomly we are going to absolutely mess up your perfect drive willy wonka style just for the hell of it...doesn't seem like a great game feature. Challenges may need you to make 5-15 shots in a VERY SPECIFIC way to complete, but "randomness" is added just to make it more infuriating? Haha. Eh.
I'm in my mid-40s (age wise) and been gaming since my teens. Not my first rodeo. Plus, there are a lot of people posting examples but I keep seeing excuses as to why things are a certain way...with no backing or support just the believe my random guy say so. I tend to lean to, the game is far from perfect and things need to be adjusted slightly still.

Note I have no more insight into this than you do though, and I'm a similar age to you as well for what it's worth.
If you share a video of what you're experiencing it will be easier for people to get an idea of what's going on and whether it is a bug or not. This isn't a challenge I've tried myself yet by the way.
- @TriumphRider was it the Off The Tee challenge you were trying, and possibly using the Power Drive shot? If so note that as you switch between this and the regular drive you'll see how the shaded dispersion zone is much larger for the power drive (it's intended as a risk/reward shot). Even the regular drive has a fair size dispersion zone and might explain what you saw but it feels more likely with a power drive...
The randomness is frustrating especially when you are almost fully specced into accuracy and / or recovery. When you have to get a shot to 5ft or so and your circle is as big as a house its just pure luck where the ball goes. I know they want to make it more realistic, but its still a game and should rely more on skill that luck.
