absolutely disgraceful
Ive Played Every Golf Game Put Out By EA ,Going Back As Far As The Mega Drive And I Have To Say They Were Good Games .I Loved The Tiger Woods Series ,As Far As I Was Concerned EA Were The Best . Whe...
I don't really understand all the baching on the game. I agree with the fact that the game need some update but for me I never experience any big problem with the game. The gameplay is really good, the graphic make this game the better golf game on the market. You said that EA doesn't listen player but everything is a business. The game was not a big succes story and it wasn't suppose to be because it's sad but the golf is not the main sport and the amount of golf player who also play video game are very small.
Ea with an obviously smaller budget than its other sports games, managed to provide us with the best golf game on the market, with graphics that explode those of 2k and gameplay that receives controversial opinions but which for me is really superior and more realistic than 2K.
They also succeeded despite the low sales of the game, providing us with regular updates with magnificent new terrains and certain features requested by the communities, obviously there remain several problems to be resolved, but we must understand that in the current state of the game success of the game I wouldn't be surprised if the game development team is reduced to 2-3 guys.
I am an extremely passionate golf player and like everyone else I would always like more from this game, but you have to remain realistic and appreciate what EA has delivered to us.

I have to totally disagree with about 90% of what you wrote.
In life we are held to a standard of what we have done in the past. It may not always be a fair expectation in life, but it is what is expected of us.
I personally did not like any of the previous EA Golf games in their series but many did. This game falls well short of that measuring stick, in both gameplay and features. This is truly a disappointment since not only did they have a framework to start with but nearly a decade to see what others have done since.
The only thing this game improved on was the graphics, which should have been a given since they developed it on nextgen consoles only.
But even at that, are these truly nextgen graphics....? Have you seen what the lastest games on the Unreal engine look like?
Yes this is a smaller demographic than Madden... but obviously they saw enough potential profits in the genre to take a calculated risk.
It's not enough to just put out an offering... you are catering to a mature audience with a golf title rather than a bunch of adolescents.
"The gameplay is really good"
The game is fun but the gameplay is miles away from being like real golf.
Several major fundamental issues still exist with this game (which have been previously well documented and I cant be 'arrised mentioning yet again) and these haven't been addressed by the developers and they seem unable or unwilling to fix them.
Probably why there is next to nobody playing the game these days.

Essentially, it appears EA thought they could release an updated "Rory McIllroy PGA Tour", with Augusta added, and assume it would sell. I frankly dismiss the "smaller budget" conversation when it had to cost a boatload of money to retain/re-obtain the Masters/Augusta license, not to mention the Ryder Cup, Official World Golf Rankings, all the clubs/gear brands, etc.
The shot types sounded cool at first, but it's basically made the game become "use the meta shot types to go low", no matter what difficulty you play on. I use about as "sim" settings as you can, and have to have AI difficulty in career mode cranked to 95, and still have to manually limit my skills and specs to make the game competitive.
Anyway, there are still major issues/confusing decisions that just make me shake my head:
- career mode leaderboards shown between holes no longer show the previous hole completed, like they used to.
- challenges still hang up and freeze, preventing you from getting all sponsor gear, unless you change AI players' outfits and get lucky enough that they do load?
- the ball still gets moved around for no reason; I hit a shot to 10 feet away from the cup, ball on the green, at TPC Boston Hole 2...but my putt magically moved to within 5 feet???
- why do we still have a triple bogey limit?
- cup physics are all over the place...I have had some cool lip-outs, and then some interactions between ball and cup that put this game in an alternate universe where physics don't exist
- AI opponents, despite devs saying that they fixed short-game issues, still hit the ball across greens on chip shots and pitches. They also still hit -20% drives on par-5s for reasons unknown.
- the store has not had really any new items added to it since before the Ryder Cup update...and most of the solid Nike shirts that do cycle in there are bugged and look terrible.
- crossplay, anyone? Otherwise, I don't even bother with online because it's silly how they do it and it takes a while to even find a match.
I still play this game for daily tournaments and a career mode round or two, but it's lost its long-term appeal when they basically said that there'd be no more content added and they'd work on "fixing things"...and then didn't actually fix anything in the previous bigger patch (not this hotfix that came out yesterday). In fact, it was quite the opposite, as more things got broken - namely, the career mode in-game scoreboard.

I saw someone reporting his Nike shirt in the bugs reports. Maybe there's hope there as a dev will see this as something not working as intended. I've got a feeling the one or two dev working to fix this game are reading just the bug reports at this point. Maybe there's hope for the mini-leaderboard as it has been reported too.
And I doubt they're reading General Discussion at this point as it's just customers venting their frustration on how they think the game should be played. Or contents that should be in the game and won't be because there's no more resources working on the game for this. Aside of the next pro-pass and the upcoming Santa's theme of course.
And now more things are broken again. No star for challenges and quests are totally broken, not getting credit for anything.

@Mickstudio1308Even though you say that the golf game is not the main sport and the ones that play the game is very small, that shouldn't matter. We are not asking for the developers to put extra resources into this game. We just want them to build on what they have already done.
EA has already created a game with all the features and gameplay that we want. For example; We all like EA Sport's Tiger Woods 2014. If EA would have just took that game and just increased the graphics to 2023 standard, that's all that would be needed to make everyone happy.
But EA screwed everything up by changing the basic stuff that didn't need to be changed at all. The developers in this game are not to bright because they abolished replays, shot penalties for hitting bad shots and also made the game way to easy to play even for a 10 year old and made it to Arcady instead of a sim.
If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it. EA tragically failed here in doing that and we are trying to tell them how to fix it, but again, they don't listen. What a shame.
There are many things I struggle to understand from the user base that defends this intellectual property by saying that it is a game, and was never meant to be a SIM.
Well the comments below all come from EA's website for this game/sim and the only thing I can agree with is that there are 20 shot types. I can't even say they play realistically, but they are in the game.
And if this wasn't meant to be a sim, why do you need Shotlink and Trackman data? Not that I feel either was correctly applied to the game.
Honestly when I first saw the promotional material I was pretty optimistic, surrounded by a lot of doubters... Boy do I have egg on my face. The detractors were right... it's todays EA and not the company from 25 years ago.

@ELF014 The current PGA Tour made promises that were not implemented. EA UFC 5 did not have any of the promises made like current game except for English to Spanish Translations; yet, gameplay fits what was promised in PGA Tour. It seems like Borat did the description for the promises. I will rephrase them in Borat's point of view.
