@ELF014 Please don't misunderstand, I agree with your sentiments. I just think in the terms of those short term random players are still needed to give the return on investment for EA, or there likely won't be a game long term.
Keeping more people happy seems to be a safe bet for us to have a game that will be at least maintained for a long time, and hopefully have further development.
My suggestion is if SIM isn’t doing it, get some clubs and get out there.
2k is trash.

@RodSirloin There's no reason why the game cannot cater to all levels though, which is the main point I was trying to convey.

@Noya_WesaThere is a valid reason. There are only so many resources, budgeting, and time deadlines available for them to reach what is referred to as “Feature Complete”. There isn’t a $300M budget for golf because the returns aren’t there.
You make a game that mostly caters to the historical major demographic. Players looking for an extreme niche market segment experience should get the least attention. This isn’t a literal simulation intellectual property, it’s a video game for people of ALL walks of life can enjoy. Which are mostly dominated by Amateur and Pro players.EA wasted a ton of time on 60fps and it flopped just like I said it would. Where does the line get drawn pray tell?

@RodSirloin The OP asked a question, I offered my honest opinion. The fact is though, none of us really know EA's direction, the best we can do is speculate and hope at this stage.
I sincerely hope they do try to cater to all level of players.
I'll leave it at that.

It's nice to see an adult in the room. And I fully agree with what you are saying. It appears that the developers underestimated the skillsets of those playing this game.
Making some adjustments to include everyone doesn't seem unreasonable.

Now we’re doing attacks because someone is resisting and being reasonable?

@Noya_WesaVast vast majority of, people looking to play video golf aren’t looking for an Uber realistic experience. They want to play golf and have fun, not shoot a +37.

2k is trash.Again you seem to miss the point. I would argue that 2K currently has a much larger player base than EA. And currently the EA user base is getting smaller daily.
I like the original game mechanics of the GOLF CLUB, and though some of the things 2K did improved the experience... others took away from it.
However...THE GOLF CLUB/2K PGA included settings that allowed all levels of players to enjoy the game.
The issue is a lot of those that criticize the game didn't have the skills to play it and because of their egos would not lower the settings to enjoy it on their own terms. On 2K you can turn the timing completely off, and at the lower difficulty settings it is hard to hit outside the swing path.
If EA wants the game to be successful they need to capture the dedicated golf market. Those that love golf, they are the ones that will play until the EOL of the game.
And if you check the demographics of golfers... they also have all the disposable income. I never complained about spending money on this game. I'm disappointed on the status of it.
