What shot type are you using and what lofted club are you using? Try a flop shot or a spinner shot or a half swing chip shot.
Shot type doesn't matter. Approach, knockdown, finesse all do it. Even spinning does but a little less. It's any club from any distance. If I do quick play it's fine, feels normal, but in career mode it's stupid.
Basically what they've done is make your character completely useless & even leveling up makes no real significant difference, the only way to gain any kind of control of the ball (& it still feels somewhat limited) is to either play the game in KID'S Mode (turning on in-flight spin control) or through buying SPECS from the in-game store, however, the Specs available in the store are limited (like the entire store in general) I don't know if & when it updates & the price for these Specs is extremely overpriced (between 4k for Uncommon & 15k for Legendary or even 18k for Legendary Pro Specs) so you could be waiting a long time for the store to update with the Spec you want (which is ridiculous) or typically you'll earn the money to buy the one you want only to find out the stores updated & it's now not available, tbh the store is pathetic & I really don't understand whys it's so limited, but then the Private Online Mode is restricted to Stroke Play only & it's not even turn based like the old games used to be so doesn't even really feel like you're playing with your friends online, the whole games kind of a disappointment, if I hadn't have preordained the digital version I'd be selling the disc & going back to 2K23 & hoping they've finally fixed the Stutter Putter issue...

Try spinner, flop and high flop or when you are in the bunker go for a pick shot.
