Career simulated results in quick round frustratingly inconsistent

Playing quick rounds in career is the best option now for those looking to not play all 72 holes.  I've payed through with nonstop birdie streaks and simulated results for unplayed holes are many bogey and few birdies and even double bogeys.

Ultimately playing consistently well results in round after round dropping significantly in the leaderboard making it near impossible to win the tournament in round 4. Very disappointing and discouraging to dedicate any time to career if my scoring trends are not impacting the algorithm for stimulating the results.

Anyone else in the same boat?

  • R3 ended @ -4 i was leading in 1st

    R4 started hole 13 with +1 and T8....

13 birdie, 14 par, 15 birdie, 16 eagle,  with 2 holes to play and the leader spread is 3 strokes overall (-6, -3).... it's unreal

they simulated your guy going  +5?   lmao.  thats crazy.  I haven't had that experience.  I started off pretty shaky in the early goings.  I was usually the one making all the bogys and the simluated guy was trying keep me afloat.   Did terrible at the US Open after winning my first tourney.   But now i'm winning tournaments.  Think I just won three in a row and one was after a 3 hole playoff.  pretty cool.

  • Yes!! It’s so frustrating playing bogey-free holes to them simulate +4. Not worth playing in quick mode if you want to win anything!

  • Yeah. Just played the US Open at LACC for the first time, in career mode with quick rounds.

Round 3, finished my set of holes at the 9th, I was -7 and the leader was -8.

AI played the last 9 holes of round 3 in +5.

AI played the first 9 holes of round 4 in +1.

So from the time I was done in round 3 to the time I teed off in round 4, I went from -7 to -1 and I went from 1 shot behind to 10 shots behind. Shot -7 on the back 9 and still lost by 4 shots.

My player is a 97 rating - why does this happen? Its not meant to be a brag...I've grinded the crap out of career mode and challenges to get my player to level 50, and unless I play all the holes myself its like my AI chooses to play in a similar fashion to a 6 year old.

@The_Boogiest_Man i have a 99 rated played with ZERO in putting and i get those stupid over par scores, the only way ive seen to "guarantee" to win, is if you dont make birdie (or eagle) just restart the round where you left off and play the hole again. tedious, yes, annoying, very
  • This is exactly why I am rallying for being able to select 1, 2, 3 or 4 rounds.  I had this same experience.  You have ZERO CONTROL when you try to play a tournament with quick rounds.

Three different times, i was leading a tournament going into the final around only to start the quick final round well over par thanks to the simulation of my first 13 or 14 holes and I lost every time because its almost impossible to dig yourself out of a +5 or +6 score with only four or five holes, especially when the leader you are chasing is under par.

If you want any control of your tournaments, you are FORCED into playing four full rounds. This is a big big problem folks.  The devs need to know about this, I believe wholeheartedly it is the biggest problem with career mode that needs fixing.

This should never have been an option. The lowest setting should have forced you to play one complete round. Another poor decision made by those in charge of developing the game.

  • Agreed. I think Quick mode is a leftover from Rory Mcilroy PGA TOUR unfortunately.  I think its horrendous and its even worse in this game, because of the not so random simulated hyper over par score they hand you when you're leading going into the final round.

Maybe we ought to put in a bug for it?Problem is, I hate quick mode so I'm not so sure I want them to fix it.  Playing quick mode was just a last ditch effort for me to play some tournaments without playing all four rounds.
