I think they could make them tolerable if they removed the RNG element from the conditions. If they were based on ability, not luck, then perhaps they could be made palatable.
Further, I'd say especially if it's trying to replicate what a player did during an event. It should be replicated as it was, and adding RNG on top means you aren't making their shot...

In the "Make the Shot Challenge", the only shots that can be made consistently are Putts in green, Chips, and Texas Wedge. Pitch and Spinner shots can be done after 30 to 40 minutes of trying. The other shots are dependent on Luck which are just like hitting a jackpot in Vega$. The Vegas Golden Knights have a better chance of scoring a goal than gamers hitting the Lucky shots in the challenge.

I personally have not played the "Make the shot", or any of the precision challenges since I maxed out my first character. Actually I haven't really done anything other than complete season two in Career mode and Private matches since there was nothing to grind for.
I realized when I started playing this game that because of the RNG, an element of luck was involved in executing shots. So when extreme precision is involved, shot making is not in the players hands. No matter how well you execute a shot, the game will ultimately decide where the ball ends up. And the further away you are the larger that area encompasses. I'm not even convinced the dispersion circle is correctly represented.
However with power and spin control on... you may be able to fully control your shot. But I don't play the game in this way so I wouldn't be able to confirm this.
For those of us that feel you shouldn't have control of the ball after it leaves the club face, I can see how this could be a bit unpalatable.
A small amount of RBG is reasonable in my opinion. But not when it is used to create artifical difficulty into a game.
- @Noya_Wesa Couldn't have expressed it better myself. I have been doing some of the championship moments and instead of enjoying them I get increasingly frustrated. You can replicate the same swing all 5 times times and the ball goes all different directions. It is hard enough to get shots within 2 feet three or more times never mind making the shot. I actually resorted to going with the Texas wedge on a couple of challenges since chips and lobs are so inconsistent and ended up sinking a 112 ft putt from10 yards off the fairway.
RNG is ruining the fun for me in so many aspects of this game. Almost not worth aiming or creating a shot when the ball goes where the game dictates.
To bad we don't hear anything from the developers about this considering how many people complain about it. - PalomaMarvel242 years agoSeasoned Ace

Another name that could be use for RNG is VNG which is Vega$ Number Generator. Another type of Challenge that depends on Luck is the precision challenges especially ones that ask for all five 1 or 2 ft precision shots. I normally skip those challenges unless it is a putting challenge. I will need a Vega$ Golden Knight in Shining Armor to actually pull off those shots.
