My wife and I created own characters and played locally againts each other in old EA Sports golf games. The characters we created had their own look, clothing and skills and these characters could improve their skills by performing tasks. We could choose where to play and so on. Is this kind of activity possible in EA Sports PGA Tour 2023?

I can't understand why it isn't possible to implement a local offline multiplayer with your own golfer on a console when everything is already there for it. In the announcements you could read that this is possible. Now you can see that it just doesn't work. Unfortunately, I've now spent the money and the game is basically useless to me. I can create multiple golfers under my PSN account and switch between them. That is possible. I can select a game type and add another golfer in a quick game. This works out. But then I can't add another controller or add more from the list of created golfers. That is not possible. That is completely incomprehensible. I played ea golf with my wife on the Playtation 2 for hundreds of hours in local multiplayer, you could even invite a guest with a profile in career mode. We used it extensively and loved it. Now with the Playstation 5 there are countless complex online modes, but a simple couch multiplayer with two controllers is not possible. I was looking forward to a great time with the fantastic graphics for two. It's just wasted money now. Very frustrating.

i want to be able to play local with my wife with her profile. but its not possible, will this be coming to the game? if not i will request a refund

I've just been using the trial, you can create up to four golfers within each xbox profile. However there does not seem to be any way of connecting more than one custom golfer per quick play game (stroke play) the other three players are pre-defined 'pro' players and your other custom golfers do not appear. If you switch profile (xbox) it starts a new instance of the game, which is fine if you want to play on your own or online.So unless I'm missing something - you cannot have local couch mode with individual custom profiles - which is a deal breaker for me, even 2K21 let you play locally with custom players, and what is more disappointing - previous PGA golf games allowed progression with all local custom golfers. I want to play with friends locally as them, not against pre-defined Pro golfers - sorry unless this is resolved I will not be buying this.Not sure if this is because it's a trial - but this does really surprise me that this basic feature is missing, plus the face customisation is incredibly limited, but I could have lived with that to be honest.What's worse is any of the controllers (signed in to different xbox profiles) can control any of the four players (the custom, and the three defined "pro" players) so anyone using a controller can control the player taking the shot - this cannot be right. I must be doing something wrong....or the couch co-op was thrown together and is completely unfinished - in it's current state, this game is suited mainly to online only.

That is a major bust from EA. I like the game so far to be honest, but this kills it. I regularly play with my fiancé and on the other game we could at least make a customized guest character for her to use against my player. On this game if you want to play with your character in an offline round, anyone you play with has to use a Tour Pro. On the TW games you could make multiple created players and use them H2H.

@jambomakaveli Same with me! Can’t pick a pro golfer because I have been invited to the private match! This needs fixing, I played one game last night where both people in the private match could be proffesional golfers

+1 to have this basic feature implemented. The wife and I have always enjoyed playing against our own custom characters and building up our XP at the same time. I am really disappointed that the ability to do this is not available at launch and hope that it will be implemented ASAP! Literally only joined this forum for this reason, after discovering that this was not possible after purchasing (PS5).

Completely agree. Me and my partner are absolutely bummed out right now. She saw me playing as we were watching The Masters tournament side by side and we've played 2k21 for countless hours on couch co-op but it isn't implemented in this game?
EA always drops the ball like crazy. It's one of the simplest and most desirable features and they didn't think of it...terrible.

@EA_Illium Hello, given this is clearly a deal breaker for a lot of players - are you in any position to indicate if this is going to be possible very soon. Or do those who want to play this game in office couch coop have to assume it’s not something EA are implementing as a priority. It would be nice to know so we can move away from this game or wait for the update shortly.

We’ve heard nothing from EA at all regarding this which is hardly transparent given you have had plenty of feedback at this time.

I contacted EA on Wednesday after realizing this was not possible, and while they acknowledge they got my message, they refuse to answer. Probably because they know they screwed up and don't want to admit they left this out.

@tmimp67 Thanks for the update. It seems they are unable or unwilling (probably the latter) to give us a time line for this resolution.

It’s a real shame given the presentation the game. Just irritates me a tad looking at their latest reddit post and no acknowledgement of this issue - but they talk about being transparent….hmmmm….not !

A major feature that is missing from this pga tour game is that you are unable to play local multiplayer alongside other players' customized avatars on the same console or system; you would have to do so online. I find this frustrating considering the fact that you could do this in other golf games.

@tmimp67 Thanks for the info. I do not expect EA to implement this any time soon. The game did not sell well and they will just cut their losses and just focus more on fifa etc.

I had this option on an old tiger woods game, on a PS3: a friend and I playing each other, turn based, using our own created characters. It was fantastic.
I'm glad I learned about this. I'd absolutely buy the game if this was an option, but it isnt. Honestly hard to believe they decided not to include this.

They just don't get it.

I recently got a response from EA Help about my question regarding this. They said my question was about crossplay.
NOWHERE in my question did I ask about crossplay! It was clear as day I was asking about created characters in couch co-op.
