fully dead
by October, this game will be full done, unfortunate.... good job -EA- at making something that "could've" been good, but you didn't follow through
I don't think EA care one bit at this point, there's no more developer around to read this board. The game will probably be close to fully dead when the new PGA 2K25 is released. The way it's going, it looks like maybe it will be next spring.
Oh I totally agree with you. They did the minimum of what was promised before release and that's it. They did the same with EA Rory. There wasn't enough copies sold, they cut their losses and abandoned the game. They're probably ashamed of how few copies they sold, they don't even mentioned it on their Quarterly Report. Making a golf game only for current generation consoles and PC was a dud, another epic commercial failure not worth continuing.
But... they're making lots of money with their new College Football 25, this series will have a very long future.
Even if it was the best game of all time, the result would have been the same. If golf is not selling, it's not selling. No matter the fixes, it's a financial flop and I doubt we will ever see another golf game from EA. I believe we wouldn't have seen this golf game if 2K didn't sell so many copies of 2K21 during COVID.
Just a comparison, a developer said the last Dragon Age game sold 12 millions copies, EA is releasing a new one. This golf game probably sold less than 1 million copies just like EA Rory.
Once the game didn't sell, it was only a matter of time before EA stopped supporting this game. And with EA downsizing, the entire golf franchise is dead.
