In 2008 EA claimed it was hackers pirating their games that was costing sales causing them to abandon the pc. They been complaining about that since 2005. People use to burn games even for consoles. But the truth was most people bought their game to play online in with friends and family or to meet people in community clubs and tournaments, etc.. And you couldn't do that with a pirated game. But starting in 2005 cheating started becoming a major problem and eventually the game became a ghost town just like this one by 2008. Well not as bad as this one, not even close, but a dead pop by 2008 standards.
These are the same reasons many of us are now going back to 2k23 or like me buying it for the first time. And let me tell you, its an amazing experience compared to this game. Its what i've always wanted in an online golf game and I'm least thankful for ea pushing me to 2k23. It has an actual mmr and ranking system with crossplay for all control types. And I get instalty matched with a palyer of my level for a competitive matchup, almost all the time. I'm loving it.
But I originally thought ok maybe ea is trying to make every game mode a hard simulation because they are just listening the wrong people. But now I'm thinking those wrong people are EA themselves after they just locked another thread asking for turn based multiplayer options, and people in there started gathering to call the fact out development is making everything a similuation mode, which agian 99% of players don't want was was evident on this forum many months ago. Now only the sim people are left, and its literally just a dozen of them! lol
Why did EA ignore 99% of the community that was asking for turn based multiplayer since launch, for literally months and months on end? Not even acknowledging this request while addressing others? Because of everything I've said above which, understandably, they still hold resentments over.
I was with the makers of 2k23 since their 1st game perfect golf, which was actually a fun great game left with incomplete bugs galore all the way through the golf club versions then 2k21 and 2k23 but they are just as bad don't fool yourself. As dissatisfied as I am with EA and. Their "no f'n clue" attitude the game mechanics of it make 2k23 a joke, the graphics once did seem good until EA brought out the game which let's face it, yeah their regime suxs but the game compared to 2k23 is like comparing a Bentley to a Toyota, yeah the Bentley is ridiculous and a dream of what could be but it's a Bentley, a Toyota is the functional no other or not much more on offer choice, option, that you don't dream about but it's what most can and will get. I went back to 2k23 for 3 holes realised how bad it was and went back to ea and use it how we can because despite knowing EA won't don't what they should , there's nothing like it in it quality. 2k23 is a money grab by a couple of fortune guys who were there when EA continued their disassociation of consumer reality and got richer of it. But to say it's better , couldn't be further from the truth , they pay a few of the select to give them a god complex and think they are the be all wand end all but the people that run TGC tours are those people and their oversized unwarranted self worth is why that game also when to poop. Give people some freebies and pay them to promote your product and you get exactly what it became.anothwr potentially great game tainted by greed. I'm glad you enjoy 2k23 I did for a long time too but now when what was free to earn is split up into quarterly promos with 4000%markup from 2 years ago and you get less. You may slowly! Start to see things like half your inventory disappears and then your earnings are used to rebuy what you had 2, 3 4 X already because it's always "yours or your systems fault" and never HB studios (2k23).A year of support emails saying sorry we passed on the problem to the deva and We know they would like to correct your issue but support staff haven't got that authority and close the ticket and.then ask you to rate your experience with the helo staff. Who are very nice but can't do anything but resend the same response over and over. Just be mindful of how much it costs you in real $. If that doesnt bother you then have at it and I hope you do continue to enjoy it, there are 1000s of us that left 2k23 because of it. But not just it. 1300 online was thought of as empty not that long ago. The course designer was the best function but like the game it remains flawed for only a small group that get paid benefits that push whatever they are told to keep their feelings of being the elite. Pfft that's humans for you well the worst of them anyway, being a good human isn't profitable but profits and $ always first
