Game stopped booting after most recent patch - steam

Summarize your bug Game will not boot since most recent patch. Try to boot from Steam and the EA app flashes for a moment, appears to crash and then reloads, game will not progress from there.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure. Game was working fine on my pc and steam deck before patch, now neither will boot, also tried installing on gaming laptop, getting the same failure to boot game at all.
What happens when the bug occurs? Click "PLAY" button on steam. EA app loads in background, crashes and then reloads, game never boots.
What do you expect to see? the game booting.
Not really sure whats going on here. tried to boot the game after the most recent patch and now it no longer boots on either of my PC's or steam deck. tried reinstalling. halp. specs below
