Golfer Freezes in Putting Animation

I see this issue every time I putt before the golfer's animation to address the ball, typically for tap ins that take little putt aim adjustment. 100% of the time the golfer freezes for about 5 or so seconds and then the ball is putted, putter head never moves forward but the game does not freeze. Also, during cinematic after the putt is made the golfer still appears to be at address but when the next hole begins its all good. The biggest issue comes if you tap Y to speed it up while the golfer is frozen. The game freezes but I can still access the pause menu and go to the xbox dashboard but it won't unfreeze until I kill the game. Have not tried simply quitting to main menu yet but I assume the same result which is you lose all XP, holes, etc. beyond the last auto save.
