Actually I am ok with the consumable golf balls affecting gameplay. The problem is they took it way too far. And one thing it shouldn't do is control the speed of greens.
I believe that equipment including the golf balls should have attributes. The way both franchises have made the equipment cosmetic only there is no reason to check out anything new since everything plays the same. However 2K added fittings... but this should have been included on top of club attributes.
In my opinion as stupid a decision as they have made. But par for the course.
