If I play with my girlfriend I should only be able to play my golfer using my controller and the same for her.
Previously if we started a local game then she suddenly could controll my player and vice versa.
I don't recall hearing that this situation has changed. So long as you can both manage to resist interfering with each others shots it should still be totally playable though.
