Lost player and progress until I made a new golfer

I started creating a new golfer but backed out and didn’t complete. This appears to have deleted my original golfer and my progress in career mode: I was 4 shots off the lead heading into the final round of my first Masters! I quit the game and logged back in and now it wants me to create a new golfer. Is there any way to get my original golfer and progress back?
