I have no idea how many copies EA sold, but it was less than 1M copies for EA Rory, they cut their losses and quit making golf game. So if they sold less than 1M copies of this one, it will probably be the same. It would explain why there's no improvement on game play and top devs have moved to the 2K golf game.
This one confuses me... if these two where top developers that had significant impact of the final product we call EA PGA Tour, WHY would you hire them?
The game is an obvious disaster in so many ways... from gameplay, to menu design, multiplayer, physics... etc. The list goes on and on...
And if their former employer thought highly of them would EA not have done something to retain the architects of this franchise?
EA has invested a lot of resources on this game, and I think they are aware that there is a viable market here. They just have the wrong vision of what needed to be developed for the community.
If they leave the genre I personally will be disappointed.. while I felt HB Studio's had a personal stake in improving the game, 2K I feel has a different agenda.
Without someone to push 2K to improve the game... advancements will be trivial.
Case in point... the updates prior to EA' release... and what has been updated since.
