There are a lot of things I wish EA would add or change in the game such as having Replays for one. However, I want to focus on one thing today. The game does not punish you if you miss a fairway. Whether you land in the rough, sand trap, heavy rough, bunker, etc... It always shows roughly the same ball lie %. Very little change. So why even try to land it in the fairway, when it makes no difference if you land in the rough.Here's a suggestion: If your ball lands in the First Cut, make the lie percentage 97% - 94%. Rough; 94% - 80%. Heavy Rough or Deep Rough; 79% - 65%. Landing in a bunker, depending how the ball landed in the sand, should be anywhere from 97% - 64% if it's buried.This is just a rough idea and a suggestion to make the game more realistic. It's way to easy the way it is. So EA needs to step up and correct all these things in the game so it's more realistic and challenging to play.

You can actually hit further out of the rough and occasionally you’ll find a 23% buried in the rough ball that you can’t hit anywhere. It makes no sense.This all falls under their “randomness”, though. They don’t want us to have an arcade experience. More like a randomly generated participation experience.

Rather than a percentage they should have let us zoom in to the ball. We could determine on our own how deep the ball was in the rough or sand. The type of lie, and the direction of the grass to see if a flyer was a possibility.All these decades of golf games and they still cannot get it right.

I agree. It seems like all these years doing this, they would come up with common sense decisions on how the game needs to be. There is so much more room for improvement. EA needs to pay attention to all of our forum comments and act on them.

I am hoping there is an option to turn this off if the change happens. I am an arcade player who prefers casual play. I would not want the mechanics changed again where I need to relearn the game. Changing the mechanics can cause more bugs.

I agree with the other responder. I see variations in the ball lie all the time. Being in the rough, I agree should be more punishing, but there are definitely diff percentages in ball lies.

@90nitk78q2tu I didn't really mean there was no variation. I just changed that statement in the original post. There's some variation, but not nearly enough. And I do agree with you about which club you have selected along with which shot type. It seems like the HACK just about gives you 100% every time.

What you think needs to be done and what i think needs to be done are miles apart someone is always going to be disappointed. On the other PGA golf game I have no problem getting - 12 on easy setting. Hear i'm lucky to get -1 or -2 on arcade.
