No real ball spin on tour settings

I think this game was designed for arcade only. where you add more spin to the ball by tapping your buttons. i have a maxed level player(50) with all legendary specs on everything. I play on tour settings Does not matter how much loft i put on the ball i does not slow the ball down on green. or if i want forward spin on my wedges to counter react the natural back spin no matter what the ball still back spins. i have control off the charts! so i should be able to spin ball way better than this!

  • Note that shot type and club selection has a huge impact here. You need to consider these as well as just trying to counter backspin by hitting low in your example.

  • Lay up and use a 9 iron for approach? If wedges spin why set up to use them, just give yourself more room for the approach.

The problem with this game is there is no spin adjustments its just high or low hit. it does not add any kind of spin to ball. and its all about which way wind is blowing, if behind you're back the ball is a rocket. if in face then ball will land nice and soft. . What i am saying is all the ball adjustment does is just change the arc, it does not add any kind of spin.

I think it's hard to know for certain if that's true? Changing the loft definitely affects how much the shot runs out for me on Tour difficulty but I don't personally know enough to try to separate out ball flight and spin aspects.

Increasing the control stat may be a slightly complicating factor here I think, as  this increases the amount of backspin you get in the first place. So good or bad depending on the situation.

@Ultrasonic_77yes loft will affect the roll because it ether gonna Go real high and come down softer roll less or go low come in hot and roll faster. But that does not add any kind of spin to ball.

My point was how can you tell that there is no spin component as well?

@Ultrasonic_77You can tell by ball trajectory how slow/fast its gonna roll. like say if i hit a 7i full loft and had backspin applied ball should only roll out like 1--2 yards maybe even backspin depending on wind, This game with 2mph at back wind on level ground with full loft ball rolls like 8-10 yards! 15mph wind at back full loft your ball is a rocket when it hits green! rolls like 30+ yards. and yes i have control maxed out so i can loft the ball at max height.

It's all about specs in this game. In the old TW game, it was about upgrading clubs and balls. In this game, it's upgrading specs on clubs and balls. I've got lots of natural spin now.

I personally never quite figured out how the spin works in this game.

I have had hit the same wedge on consecutive holes into greens... where it would land on a downward slope and spin 20 feet back up a hill. Then on the next hole hit into a slope one hop and stop.

You would think delofting the club would flight the ball lower reducing spin... but apparently not in this game. Or maybe EA took into account that the harder you swing the club (ie. Clubhead speed) would generate more spin. But I cannot say that has been my experience...

Those that created the game I don't think have an understanding of the physics and nuances of golf. They coded a pretty arcade game for the general public.

We are 7 months into things now and I think they have made things pretty clear.

Those of us that expecting a more realistic simulation were TRICKED... the rest you have been TREATED with some costumes for Halloween.
