What you're saying is technically correct but it's missing the point. If people only want to play as the real golfers, then they won't bother with creating a player, and this conversation wouldn't be happening.
A lot of people play sports video games ONLY to create a new player, compete against the AI, and build their player up to be powerful. When you first start out, your new player sucks way more than people were expecting, and it's completely reasonable for them to question why it's so hard for their player to hit a consistent shot when that player is supposed to be a professional, even if below the absolute top level. The laggy swing mechanic makes it even harder. I'm sure EA will improve the game, but the OP's concerns are legit.
