My PlayStation controller is connected to my PC and works for other games such as fifa but does not recognize it on pga game and defaults to MKB and can’t find any solutions. I have it set to preferred controller in my game controller pc settings.

In case the problem persists, since the controller works in other games, this sounds like PGA TOUR may not be detecting the input method correctly rather than the controller being fully disconnected from Windows.
Could you confirm whether you own the game on Steam or the EA app, and whether you’re connecting the controller by USB or Bluetooth? Also let us know if you’re using Steam Input, DS4Windows, reWASD, or any other controller software.
