Odd swing mechanics

Has anyone noticed that off the tee box with the driver you can hit a perfectly timed shot with a perfect swing path and the ball will either pull dead left or be blocked out to the right?

I notice it happens a lot with me, I am noticing I am a bit into the overswing.

However... if I go deep into the overswing and just ram my stick forward regardless of the swing path as long as I start at 6 o'clock and finish at 12 o'clock.... the ball goes straight pretty much everytime.

Even though the swing path can look like a reverse "C" or even a reverse 'S" shape.

It just gets me a bit crazy when you are not rewarded for the dead straight swing path. I assume tempo is related to distance and not direction. That the sum of the tempo and over/under swing dictates distance.

  • When setting up a shot, if you use the zoom to see the landing area you will see a grey shaded area around the central pointer. This is what the game calls the 'dispersion zone' and a perfectly hit shot can land anywhere in this zone I believe although it seems to be fairly heavily weighted towards the centre of the zone. Increasing your player's accuracy stat for the relevant shot type will make this dispersion zone smaller, which you do by spending skill points and upgrading 'specs'. Different shot types also have different sized dispersion zones.

@Ultrasonic_77 Thanks I am fully aware of how the game works in this regard. My accuracy is full across all three categories. And am aware of the dispersion zone. My point is these perfectly timed shots with a dead straight swing path pull left or block out to the right well outside of the dispersion zone.

And as I said I only notice this randomness with the driver. My 3-wood does not see the same issues.

If you get any clear-cut examples it might be good to share a video of them in the bug report section, because if the game is doing something it shouldn't it may help get this fixed. For myself I can't confidently say I've seen this but I'd be keen to avoid it 🙂.
