Online match play

I installed patch 6.0 for Pga Tour last week.  A couple of days later I clicked on "Online" hoping to play a match.  The screen it took me the option to join either Game Pass (untimate) or Xbox Live Gold.  I've tried a few times since and get the same thing.  I'm using the Xbox series s.  Was this online play not for the series s?  I thank you for any answers you can give me.

    You need to pay for one of those XBOX subscriptions to play online. This is an XBOX requirement rather than anything to do with EA. I play on PS5 and similarly need to have at least PlayStation Plus Essential to be able to play online. This is generally true for all games that you pay for, as distinct to free-to-play games like e.g. Fortnite.

    Thanks for the reply Champion.  I haven't been doing this very long, so I'm still learning.  On the Xbox page it shows Xbox Live Gold is 9.99 per month.  I've seen online that some electronic retailers and other stores are selling a 12 month subscription for around 60.00, both in digital and physical form.  Are these viable options?  Again, thanks for the help.

    I pay for an annual subscription with Playstation... back in the day I did the same with my xBox Live subscription.

    The requirements should be in the EA PGA game requirements.

    Game requires Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Live Gold to play on console (subscription sold separately).
