Patch 6.0 Discussion
I thought I pop back in here after a long time being away as I saw a new patch downloading on Steam. So cool, a new course. I'm wondering though, they start the patch notes with this: --- https://w...
I would so love to to see EA's numbers on the supposedly most requested features.
Come on EA, show us the numbers, and tell us where you harvested them from, and prove that season pass play was a major request that should be prioritised over adding the online content that people want, instead of the limited bit you gave them today...
Show us the screaming hoards that you needed to appease, to quieten their demands that you prioritise season passes over the fixes to the many issues that people talk about on these very forums.
Tell us how season passes are the best thing ever, come on...
You are trying to sell the game over and over again, but you don't seem to want to prioritise completing the game and fixing the bugs. You are expecting people to pay repeatedly, for what is in some ways little better than an extended open play test such as would be expected toward the end of beta.
While my Golf partner and I appreciate the changes which allow for head to head pay with Match Play, we still look forward to doing the same thing with Stroke play. Like real golf, the joy for us is to observe our partner's shots and the ability to comment on them. Yes, this means a round takes a little longer but frankly it is no fun to play with someone and almost never see them actually hit a golf ball. While many of the aspects of EA PGA Tour are superior to 2k23, the Private Match play on 2k23 is much more realistic and fun overall. I was hopeful that this patch would fix that but as far as I can tell it is only fixed for Match Play. This is very disappointing and may very well cause me to go back to 2k23 which I gave up for EA PGA Tour.

I guess we are in a small demographic of players... I also enjoy the company of those I am sharing my golf with. I enjoy watching my opponents shots and commenting on them (good and bad).
In fact when we play 2K I have to keep telling my opponents to relax and stop pushing the fast forward button. That I want to see the roll out of the ball.
When playing I'm in no hurry... it is about enjoying the journey.
I personally like much of what 2K23 offers... from the ability to control my Private Matches... to the gameplay... ball physics... features I can enable and disable. 2K23 crushes what EA offers in these respects.
My biggest issue with 2K23 and it has become a bit of a deal breaker for me is the swing speed. If 2K brought back the swing in 2K2019 or any game before that... I would be back playing 2K.
Hitting anything other than full shots doesn't feel right in 2K. You can jerry rig a swing to make things work... but it feels unnatural.
What is interesting is that if EA gave us a button that toggled to view other players, we could enforce our own turn order. Sort like what happens when you putt out in the game now. I just need a zoom feature as the cameras are too far away.
Then those that want turn order, could enforce it themselves... if not, you could just play ready golf as you do now in strokeplay.
Thanks, ELF014. I appreciate your comments. Hopefully EA will eventually get the Private Match to be enjoyable for all. In 2k23 you have a button to turn on or off "turn order". That would be perfect and should make everyone happy regarding Private matches. I really look forward to that time as I have been playing online golf ever since it first came out many years ago. It has been fun to see the improvements over the years. EA has done the best job with many aspects of the game but has failed so far in others.
