Patch 7.0 update discussion
Okay so it took me about 60 seconds to download and install the patch on my PS5.
It's been over a month since I last played. I booted up the game using my stock character (no skill points or specs...

@Katybee_1313I saw a lot of people saying this argument about the number of player that are not there in the game. But I don't care about the player. I don't want the 2023 ryder cup. I want the system of a ryder cup in the career mode. It can be all no name player I don't care.
I think one of the early "The Golf Club" games got it right. Like yourself I could care less about the branding, the licensing of the PGA and Pros. I am here for the golfing experience.
The Golf Club at one point had no name players that all had different attributes... though you couldn't play against them head to head they did try to give yiu a simulated experience in a career mode. NOW here is where I thought they stepped outside the box. They allowed you to rename these noname players. So if you wanted you could spend the time to rename all the pros to those on the current tour. I vaguely remember you may have been able to adjust their attributes as well.
Now with the community at 2K building replica courses, and 2K being threatened if those franchises are available on their search engine. Imagine if 2K provided the users the ability to rename any course within their own internal user database. Meaning on the 2K server the course would be called "A Tradition Like No Other", but locally on my system it would read "Augusta National".
I think this was one of the reasons The Golf Club never cost the price of a AAA title. That the increased pricing is coming from licensing.
I personally don't see the appeal of playing as a pro or even against a sudo pro. You not actually playing against them so it might as well be joeblow from my local club.
But for those that do... I don't begrudge that it is in the game for you.
@ELF014I'm not 100% with you on this. I am a career mode player and I want that my career mode experience is the most real possible. I want to play against real pro player and I want to play the real pga tour course. The main reason why I love this game is because I can a play a real PGA tour career not like the bad one of 2k. I play 2k a lot before the release of EA and I will never go back to the 2k game because I think that the graphic and the gameplay is really bad. But for the ryder cup, I will maybe play 10 season on my career mode so it doesn't matter which player are in the tournament. I just want to be able to play an entire ryder cup tournament in the career mode against AI.

As I said for those that need the names in the game I am happy for you.
My point is that they are not able to simulate the actual pros. You are not actually playing Jordan Spieth in career mode. In fact I would argue the current state of the career mode is in terrible shape as far as the AI is concerned. Pros do not hit 80% percent of their drive distance off the tee leaving a long iron in when they have a wide open fairway... they don't hit sand, chip, and flops shot from the green side 20 plus feet past the hole. And they definitely don't miss short putts inside a foot on a regular basis.
But I understand how people want to feel like they are competing against the pros... in reality though, you really aren't.
But like I said for those that want this feature I am happy that it is available for you. For myself you could put any group of names in the tournament.
