People leave competitive matches to deny wins and avoid a loss

Its starting to drive me a little crazy that i get more losses than wins because when ever i'm having a good round and winning I feel like someone always leaves the match,  sometimes even at the last...

People who choose to leave matches early are but those who leave due to connection issues are not. The latter definitely happens, as posts here from people complaining about their participation in online tournaments and even career mode being disrupted demonstrate. My suggestion is to treat everyone fairly and I honestly don't see a downside. But again I don't expect to see it happen either 🙂.

I'm clearly not going to convince you though so I'll leave this discussion here.

I've never had a disconnection issue.  Anybody that does needs to fix their connection or system.   All I can do is assume they are all cheaters,  pre-emptiung the fact that EA might start implementing penalties for the exploitation they are committing.  Because maybe I'm assuming you realize when you don't,  that cheaters in many video games cause themselves to disconnect on purpose to take advantage of naive devs like you are presenting yourself to be.

    Guy just quit on me after I went up 2 shots.   And to top it off not only does that mean I get no win.  the game actually froze on me on the exit menu lol.   I'm done.  there is no point in playing multiplayer which is the only reason I got the game.

    Yeah I'm holding off till they fix the competitive part of game ...plus igot bit bored playing one person when meant be upto 16 lol hope they sort it out soon

    well played with a guy today i was beating by 6 strokes and he stayed in it till the end.  I will say the quitters are a minority but when it happens its infuriating, especially for avg players like me that can struggle,   and is something that definitely needs to be addressed.

    !@$# !@%^#@*  !^!@%#@!  HAPPENED TWO MATCHES IN A ROW!  😠

    Even if they are innocently disconnecting,  which I find hard to believe,  give me a win on my stats for wasting time off my life.  ugh.

    Yea, just had someone leave on the 8th hole because they knew they were going to lose. They're "ranked" in the top 30 global leaderboard. They waited until I finished my long lag put for the par 5 8th at Augusta, when it ended up close and they would have to beat me by 3 strokes on 9, he quit. So frustrating. Should be an auotmatic loss.

    I am confused sorry.

    Are you guys saying specifically in a 1 v 1?

    I thought you get the wins for beating a DNF player in a lobby with multiple players.

    Also, are you guys saying that if someone quits they do not get a loss?

    If so, thats bad geez.
