PGA Tour.....What can I say? Even in EASY MODE this game is a headache to play!! When you drive it's fine. It's the medium and short games that are totally unrealistic!! When I try to shorten up on t...

Like putting SP, the short game SP seems only to offer the extra shot types but in no way makes you any more accurate than if you dump all your short game SP altogether. Consistently, I see a dead straight line on the meter but the ball heading off at 45 degree angles. If you aim left, the shot goes further left, aim right, it goes further right. Chips and pitches require only 50% hits to get to and go past your target and some of the other short game shots I gave up on because they are unplayable, the runner especially, is completely out of control. I like the spinner but just a minor elevation change requires a major rethink of your shot and again, you seem to lose any control.
The game is so hugely inconsistent, I firmly believe that EA did no testing before release.
Not to defend the game but, pitches, chips, runners etc... show CARRY. You still need to account for the ball roll out and any slope.
As far as the dispersion of shots, I agree it is a bit over done with some shots/clubs. But that will tighten up with skill points. The game is still a bit of a mess though.
Respectfully, I am very well aware of this stuff.
Nonetheless, the issues I raise are real.

I agree with you, but the short game is pretty tight, if you have skill points assigned. My flop and pick shots land inside 5 feet 95% of the time. Inside 8 feet 99% of the time.
I do have an avatar with no skill points, and yes the amount of dispersion seems ridiculous. But it doesn't prevent me from scoring low. It just puts more pressure on my putting. Par should still be expected due to the simple putting mechanics.
But you are not wrong, the RNG needs some adjustment and swing execution should be the main parameter causing the final outcome of a shot.
Hello,
660E7C4EDB422F6E is correct! Stay the course and level up with SP's. I used the Sponsor Challenges (easiest way, won't affect your PGA progress) from Callaway and all I have left is the "Go Bogey Free" on the last level. Not easy on 18 holes and neither was getting 5 close approach shots (within 2% of the distance from the approach shot) but I did it. In the process I leveled up and got a bunch of SP's which helped me tighten up the approaches and the putting. The driving is still a crapshoot but to paraphrase the late Bobby Jones: "Two bad shots and a great putt still equal birdie!"
I can attest to this because last night I finally got my first win!! Of all places....RIVIERA!!

I have found that if I underswing the driver it usually goes pretty straight. I used to do this a lot when there was a water hazard in play. Or use a 3 wood, you don't always need to get max distance on a hole.
