There is nothing wrong with Chipping, it's all about skills, practice, practice and practice, just like in real life.

Quick Play and Challenges are the best way to practice the chip shot. If I have an 8 yard or under chip outside the green, I have improved to an 85% make. I also use chip shots on difficult greens with many putt breaks like Torrey Pines; I can hit 60% to 70% of those shots. This was done on Career Mode. I needed to use quick play to practice. The only place where chipping is hard is at Cardi Creek (aka Wolf Creek) with 20+ mph winds.
