Chipping
chipping is by far the worst part of the game, it is terrible and it needs a major overhaul and also the wind is rediculous and finally the lies in fairways, rough, bunkers are a joke.
@CkYMaximusI agree. The circle is tiny, yet shots will be over a foot off target on a 5 yard chip. It doesn't make sense. I get the random elements, but shots shouldn't fly outside of the predicted dispersion landing zone like this. Greenside chips are pretty easy in real life and this game makes them way too annoying since it's just luck.

Bear in mind that the dispersion zone won't indicate the effects of the lie or wind but if the ball goes wildly in the opposite direction to these with a perfectly hit shot then that would indicate something isn't right. Can't say I've noticed this myself but I don't chip a huge amount as I've not practiced enough to be confident about the power to use.
Video clips of clear examples of things apparently not going right would probably be helpful if anyone could capture and share them.
Little trick you can try if the swing plane is too narrow...if your golfer is a draw/fade golfer, use just enough of their preferred workability to double the width of the line. It barely affects the 5 yard "flight path" but will allow you to hit more consistent chips with less randomness, especially at lower levels before your short game accuracy gets leveled up
