Hi @MrBuzzSir, Can you check if your Anti-virus (or other security software) is guaranteeing PGA Tour files or blocking read/write access? Hi
do you know if anything is going to be done about this problem it ruins the game play of the game
im surprised nothing has been done about this ongoing problem and more and more people are experiencing it
Can you take this problem further for all of us or is there someone else we can report this problem too?
if you hit the Xbox button while the yellow circle is trying to save it will somehow trigger the game into saving. I did this and it worked! I think I found a temporary solution to the error code 5 guys. Give it a try

This did seem to help me yesterday. Not perfect, but better than the existing behavior. Thanks @388479aaef68f74a !

[Asking for information]
Hey Everyone,
If you are running into Error 5 when playing EA Sports PGA Tour, this can typically happen when there is an issue with saving your game.
If you are on a PC, try the following steps first:
Spoiler- Repair your game via the EA App - Repair (Library > Tile Dots > Repair)
- EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
- Connection and Advance Connection Guides
- Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
- Run the System File Checker tool, then Check for Windows and GPU updates
If you are playing on Xbox, try these steps:
Spoiler- Quit the game and other running apps from Quick Resume (For Series X|S consoles) before playing.
- Remove any connected device, or additional USB's from the console then restart the Xbox and check
- Check for updates
- Try the steps in our Connection and Advance Connection Guides
- Open you're Xbox NAT Type
- Change DNS settings (You can use the public google DNS primary: 8.8.8.8, secondary: 8.8.4.4, unless there is a different DNS you would rather use)
- Persistent Storage
- Go to settings > Select Device & Connections > Then Blue-Ray
- Select Persistent Storage > Clear Persistent Storage
- Alternate Mac:
- Go to settings > Select General > Then Network settings
- Go to advanced settings > Alternate Mac address > Select clear
- Select restart
If you continue running into this error code, let us know the following:
- What is your EA ID?
- Which platform do you play on?
- Are you getting an error message?
- Have you tried the steps above?
- How often do you get the error when playing PGA Tour?
- Do you play on multiple platforms?
Thanks!

@EA_Illium It has been outlined by numerous people on this forum that the steps you provided have been followed, and have not resolved the issue. As such, to answer your questions
- My EA ID is kdk176 - if you need the email address associated, please message me directly
- I play on Xbox Series S - note there is no Blu Ray drive on an Xbox Series S
- Yes - Error Code 5
- Yes - They have not resolved the issue, but a post recently here at this link identified a work around that at least seems to allow me to keep playing. It does not resolve the root cause of the issue though.
- Regularly - It used to occur multiple times a round, however thus far using the work around identified in my previous bullet point has prevented the issue from reoccurring if caught the first time. Again though, this has not resolved the actual issue.
- I do not play EA Sports PGA Tour on multiple platforms.
Thanks!
All - please respond to this post so we can provide more data for @EA_Illium
Good post
I’d is GEOFFJESS
platform = XBOX-S
error message - error 5
yes
multiple times during a career mode game
Do not play on multi platform
the latest road to masters update - season 10 has worked okay so far. Not had the problem for about a week fingers crossed played 5 tournaments and ll okay so far got 24 weeks left to play
I posted in the bug report forum, but adding to this thread.
Interestingly, hitting the Xbox button while the autosave spinner is spinning really does seems to help! I wouldn't consider that a fix, but it's an interesting workaround.
- What is your EA ID? - On5word
- Which platform do you play on? - Xbox Series S
- Are you getting an error message? - Yes Error 5 saving error
- Have you tried the steps above? - Yes, among many things.
- How often do you get the error when playing PGA Tour? Very frequently, every 10-20 min
- Do you play on multiple platforms? - No
A plea for EA: If this bug can't be fixed or diagnosed, can you please allow users to disable autosave? The round could still be saved manually via the menu (exiting and saving). This really seems like an autosave bug and allowing users to disable this could really help us out.
Hitting the Xbox button worked for me too when playing yesterday. An option to disable auto save would be great, or offline career mode please!

xbox series s
error 5 (when auto saving during career mode round)
I have tried all of the suggestions
It happens pretty much every round I play in career mode.
I do not play this game on multiple platforms.
I'm pretty sure the issue does happen more frequently or even immediately if using quick resume. However, last night I made sure that I had no other games running on my Xbox (full system power off and reboot) and PGA Tour game was started fresh, not from quick resume. The Error 5 issue occurred after about 7 holes played (career mode). I immediately quit the game via the system menu, and restarted fresh and was able to finish the round with no further issues
Wish they would fix this issue

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to give a quick update, this has been shared with our team.
If any further information is needed, or if I have any updates I will share them here.
Thanks!

Thank you!
Great to hear that the team is looking into this.
Update for those who are looking for information on a workaround. I've been able to take this glitch from game breaking to an almost non-issue by following a few steps:
1. Quit the game and start it fresh every time - this means no 'quick resume'. This seems to have an effect on how frequently the bug occurs. I also don't have any other games on quick resume, so maybe a reboot would help, but I'm not sure if that's a factor.
2. The key one - when you see the spinning yellow/blue autosave circle (the error occurs for both colors which I find odd) for more than the usual second or two, press the Xbox button to bring up the system quick menu . This seems to somehow interrupt whatever the bug is, and the game seems to save normally. This works 90% of the time for me, and seems to somehow prevent the issue from occurring again in the same session.
3. If you do get the error, immediately quit the game via the system menu and restart. Don't try to finish the round, I usually get soft-locked if I do that. Once you get the error 8/10 it's going to happen every hole so it's best if you only lose the last hole.
Hope that helps!
Unfortunately, the issue still persists after the patch 12 update on my Xbox Series S. Started the game, loaded a tournament on Career mode and got the spinning wheel and error code: 5 message after 2 holes. The quick menu workaround still seems to work!
Fwiw, I'm a software dev who is all too familiar with how challenging these bug squashing efforts can be. I'm more than happy to provide additional info or try more troubleshooting if it's helpful, I'd really like to see this get fixed!
This is still obviously a persistent issue and the steps outlined here aren't working. Any updates from the Dev team on potential fixes?
