I'd extend that to any mode personally.

People would just complain you hit it straight too much once you extend that outside of arcade then "reeeee it's not realistic" while I roll my eyes at them as if there's a competitior for that.

The challenge in other game modes should come from the swing difficulty etc. I'm not sure if there is randomness across all game modes yet but it there is it's something I'd personally want removed. For me the appeal of sports games is the feeling that what I do as the player is what determines the outcome. Any randomness detracts from this for me.
If people want it difficult they can have it difficult
All we’re asking is in easiest difficulties that Random landing is NOT a thing
Also playing on Arcade difficulty. It's just not a fun game. Even with the pre-order bonus skill points spent and AI difficulty srt on 0 (zero!), I'm not able to compete in any means necessary. I just want to play a game with arceade mode just like that, arcade. Like in Madden where you can become a legend on the field without having knowledge of routes, playbooks or anything else. If I want a higher difficulty I can choose it, but let Arcade Mode be exactly what it sounds like. Arceade = fun. And this game is exactly the opposite, I'd like to punch my Caddy with the Driver every time i miss a shot and just stand and smiles...
And by the way the bonus skill points are only available on your first created golfer? Miss skilling means you need to rebuy with ingame currency, And btw. gold skills won't unlock event though I purchased them. Even respeccing by paying ingame currency and new adjusting the points don't unlock the gold skills... Spent nearly 2k ingame currency until I realised nothing works as expected. Really frustrated about this game.
Can't reco, mend anyone who is not on the pro tour to buy this game... I'm sad to say it, but EA keeps disappointing me.
Staying on topic. This is plain and simply about FUN
Not knowing where my shot is going to land when after calculating all distances isn’t fun
If I hit my shot straight on Arcade it should go where I’m aiming it not the game just randomly putting it somewhere

I'd much rather lose to things because i messed up especially on arcade of all difficulties than lose to random shot dispersion that shouldn't really be there for arcade. I even have my driving accuracy to max and still notice it.I just realize I need to add to this thread that I forgot:
For arcade players from old days they DEFINITELY are gonna be scratching their head when they realize post shot spin is control stat based meaning no maxing the spin bar unless you max the control stat, post shot spin can't be maxed out from the rough, bunker, or anywhere that is not the fairway(Or presumably a road), and post shot spin can get canceled entirely where you'll have to respin it if you spin another way in some situations.
Even in the 360 era this was NOT a thing for spin control and I don't get why it got limited like this as if it'd be a main function for spin in the game. Power boost is based off the 360 era of it but it still functions fine.
- @MaouYumisu I totally agree about the post shot spin as well from the rough !
No matter how much you put into Control for short game and approach you can only put minimal spin from the rough
Considering that Arcade is meant to be fun and the easiest difficulty this should NOT be the case
If I need to create 2 different golfer for Tour vs Arcade then so be it but Arcade needs that Random landing area gone! EA please listen to your fan base. I would love to see another game released in the future. It will not happen if you don’t patch this quick. You already lost your basketball franchise. If the choice was to come back and regain your place in the market, look at your most popular years and duplicate some features. The game can still be difficult for those that want it. Just give the casual player a chance at a fun game. A very skilled, well known player deleted your game after one round. You got his purchase this year, but will never get another one. Imagine those who don’t share his talent level. Please start listening. Random landing was a very poor choice. At least you control the outcome of your shot in 2K.
Possibly it's worth highlighting that those wanting the most casual experience should choose to play as a pro rather than their own golfer. That way they'll get lots of skill boosts that make the game easier.
- @Ultrasonic_77 That isn’t the point of the post
Even with pro golfers you still get the random landing area

Even with pro golfers you still get the random landing areaThe skills reduce the extent of any randomness though, and there have been other comments beyond your initial one too.
- @Ultrasonic_77 There is still Randomness though you can’t eliminate it completely
Easier difficulties should NOT have any Random landing whatsoever
I need to be in control of my shot and currently the game doesn’t allow me to do that

If I need to create 2 different golfer for Tour vs Arcade then so be it but Arcade needs that Random landing area gone!I did notice that even IF you max control for all 3 stats out like I have the irons showcase the drive skill off the tee instead of approach which means you must waste points into driving control to be effective post shot spin wise.
This is gonna trip up the Arcade players once they realize this.
@MaouYumisuYep no option to upgrade spin when from the rough is a massive oversight
Can someone explain this “random landing zone”? I have yet to experience this.

I need to be in control of my shot and currently the game doesn’t allow me to do thatI feel the same in ALL game modes. Discussion about how best to work with the game as it currently is is still very worthwhile though I feel, especially as if I'm honest I think the chances of randomness being completely removed are essentially zero since it would also apparently make the way some skills work redundant. I don't think you can argue that the skills element won't appeal at all to more casual players?

I'm still working on being consistent enough with my swing to be sure of this for myself but based on comments from others there appears to be some extent to which the grey circle you see if you zoom into the landing zone represents a region where the ball will land, but with it not being within the players full control to ensure it lands at the centre.
- @Ultrasonic_77 I do agree with you in this sense
Although what would stop people creating different golfers for different skill sets
Hence different difficulty
It would make the “Manage golfers” more appealing which is what you want for longevity for the game

Someone could create multiple golfers although I believe they'd need to be levelled/skilled up independently. Not sure what this has to do with the preceding discussion though? Sorry if I'm being thick!

I can Math any golf game and put it on a dime after a few rounds of data collecting. Trust me, it's random landing
I guess I just haven’t experienced it yet.
If I swing dead on straight making contact with the ball center mass I expect the ball to follow the line of my shot target, not land within some random landing zone that stretches across a significant portion of the width of the fairway. To what degree the ball doesn't follow the line of my shot target (after swinging dead on straight) should be determined by the lie of the ball, the pitch of the ground where the ball lies, the wind and so forth. These things would also impact the carry of my shot naturally including the vigor in which I made contact with the ball. If that makes me an arcade player so be it. The outcome of a given shot should manifest itself on-screen fully when addressing the ball. Not interested in playing a RPG.
Doing the power approach shots training challenge I spotted its description specifically referred to the 'random mishit circle'.
